Confession and Testimony - The Key To Victory

Remind The Devil To Overcome His Tactics

By Abraham Israel

Many of us struggle with condemnation when we fall in to besetting sins that tries to pull us spiritually down. When we think that we have gone a step further up spiritually, then comes a attack from the evil one that pulls us two step downward. It becomes a endless cycle of frustration that keeps increasing as we strive to please God by our own strength. But remember that God distinguishes the sin from the sinner and wants us to fight against the devil and his demonic cohorts even though we feel like it is a losing game many times (Rom 7:17). God makes us to fight like this in order to make us understand that the strength to overcome sin is not in us but is in the Lord Jesus Christ who is only able to deliver us from the bondage of sin (Rom 7:7:18-19, 24-25).

The enemy knows that he cannot stop a believer from being a child of God forever, so he will try His best and will use all his evil tactics to discourage the believer to make spiritual progression which will make them a blessing to many around them and even the whole world. So Satan and his demons will try their best to keep a believer from knowing the full truth, so that they will suffer and think that it is because of their own fault that such condemnation comes from God. But it is a absolute lie of the evil one. God will convict us through the Holy Spirit, but not even once will He condemn His child whom He has redeemed through sacrificing the precious life of His Son. Condemation is somebody saying that you are a liar and you have lied because of it. Conviction is somebody saying to you that you have lied and so you must confess it and change your ways because you are God's child. Satan and his minions always condemn a believer when they sin and will thus cause them to draw away from God and His presence, but the Holy Spirit will convict a believer to make them repent and again make them live the abundant life of Jesus in His Presence.

We should understand that once we believe Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, all our past, present and future sins are forever washed by the blood of Jesus forever
(Eph 4:32; Col 3:13). Once God transfers us from darkness to light, power of Satan to God and the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of the Son of His love (Acts 26:18; Col 1:13), we are forever freed from the condemnation and the penalty of sin (Rom 8:1). If Jesus has freed us from sin by forgiving us, we are free as God sons forever (John 8:36). Not only our past sins are forgiven, but our present and future sins too are gone forever. We have been made as righteous as God is, because God made Jesus who knew no sin to be sin for us (2 Cor 5:21). Certain Christians who wrongly believe that God forgives us of all our past sins and now we should live by our strength to live sinless in the present and future life, mostly end up being legalistic and useless for the purpose of God. What a sad thing and a deception of the devil they have believed.

God has not called us to live sinless but a perfect life of God which is in Christ Jesus
(1 Peter 1:16; Gal 2:20). Infact Apostle John says that if we say that we have no potential to sin because of becoming a holy child of God through salvation, we are deceiving ourselves (1 John 1:8). The truth is we all sin as long as we die physically. No believer will plan to sin intentionally from which they he been freed and redeemed, but may sin because of the weakness of the sin nature. So once we sin in our thoughts, words or actions, immediately the condemation of Satan and his demonic cohorts will come upon us to draw us away from God and become useless. Once fear and condemation comes in to us, immediately our identity as God's child who is clothed in the righteousness of God will be destroyed and therefore we will run away from the presence of God thinking that God hates us (Gen 3:8, 10). This has been the same cycle that has happened right from the day our forefather Adam sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God to our twenty first century end time generation of ours (Rom 5:21; 3:23). But God has made us all to be just as if we have never sinned through the perfect blood of Jesus to demonstrate His righteousness that comes by faith (Rom 3:24-26).

Do you know that the Satan who accused great men of God in the Old Testament times like Job and Joshua of sin
(Job 1:10-12; 2:1-10; Zech 3:1-5), began to fall like lightning from the heavenlies, not able to handle the power of God that Jesus operated and also made His apostolic disciples to operate in two thousand years ago itself (Luke 10:17-20). Finally the day Jesus was crucified on the Cross, Satan and his demonic cohorts were thrown out of the place in the second heaven where he accused the saints of sin to the Lord (John 12:31-32). All the devils were defeated at that point of time forever (Col 2:15). Now that Satan and his demonic minions cannot accuse the saints before the Lord forever (Rev 12:7-10), now he is trying his best to accuse the believers living on earth and make them condemned inorder to make them ineffective in their spiritual lives. And the only way God has told the believers to overcome this onslaught of the devil is to apply the blood through confession to God and then fully overcome him by the word of their testimony against Satan (Rev 12:11-12; 1 John 1:7, 9). One should not still love that sin which they have done in order for this testimony to be effective. The moment we truly confess to God in penitence, Satan has no more rights to remind us of our sins as it has been forgiven and cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

But when we sin and end up being condemned for it by the enemy, immediately we should not run away from the Lord instead should run towards our Lord and confess our sins as soon as possible
(1 John 1:9). The fellowship with the Lord will immediately be restored in our heart and the blood of Jesus will restore and maintain the righteousness of God in our mind and a cleansed conscience in our spirit man.

After all these things, if the devils comes to bring back the forgiven sins that you have already confessed to the Lord, then you have got to confess the testimony of the forgiveness that you have got through the blood of Jesus to the devil. Many of us think that it is right only to speak to God, but become fearful when we say that we have got to speak to the devils. But the word of God says that we must many times speak to the devil about our already attained victory through the blood of Jesus to overcome Satan the liar
(Rev 12:11). One truth that you must understand is that Satan and his demonic cohorts will not like to be reminded of what the Lord has done for us. Once we start to confess to the devil that our sin has been cleansed by the blood and have been forgiven by the Lord, the devil cannot stand any more but will flee away from you.

Not only that but also remind the devil that he will be thrown in to the lake of fire to be tormented eternally for his rebellion against God, and for accusing and condeming you His child who have been cleansed by the precious blood and have been redeemed forever through it
(Rev 20:10; 1 John 1:7, 9; 1 Peter 1:18-19). Never let the devil have a upper hand in reminding you of your past which has been cleansed by the blood of Jesus and make you feel condemned for things which God has already forgiven and have forgotten forever. In short, if the devil reminds you of your past remind him of his future, he will surely flee away from you as soon as possible. Praise the Lord!

Much Blessings....
