Overcoming Lust Cycle?

I Want To Get Rid Of Lust, Please Pray!

Question : Please may you pray for me. I am a Christian man aged 23. I love God and I'm part of a Church ministry in my town. I'm single and currently unemployed. I need prayer concerning my employment, relationships and such. But the most important thing is my relationship with God and my spiritual walk. I haven't been involved with women literally in my life. I have a problem which I want to get rid of because it is like a cycle. I want to get rid of lust. I am a guy who feels lonely at times. I get comfort when I pray to God. Please pray to God concerning my life.

Answer : Greetings to you in Jesus name! You are never alone, because God has promised to never leave you nor forsake you
(Heb 13:5). Every time you feel that you are alone, you should renew your mind saying, "I am not alone because God has promised to be with me always and He meant what He said. I believe it." The devil wants you to doubt this truth of the word of God by your feelings, you will win over the devil when you choose to believe what God says by rejecting the doubt. When a similar situation arose in the life of Jesus when all those acquaintances, friends, followers and hearers began to desert Jesus just at the crucial hour when the jealous Jews and ruling Romans came to arrest him to kill him on the Cross unjustly, this is the time when he needed them the most, but not even for a second Jesus felt lonely because he believed that Father God was always with Him as He has promised in His word (John 16:32). As we are born again this is our victory, our faith which overcomes the feelings and thinking's of the world which is influenced by the devil and his minions (1 John 5:4; 2 Cor 4:4).

James the apostle said,
"14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death." (James 1:14-15). In other words, our own evil longings tempts us. They lead us on and drag us away to make an evil choice. Like a pregnant women who had conceived when a sperm entered her, the evil choice we have made grows in our mind and strengthens itself to make us sin in reality, and when we sin it separates us from God's presence which makes us feel alone. The primary longings and desires of evil suggestions and thoughts are like a bait that comes to us from our fallen sinful nature within us to defile and corrupt our godly thinking as Jesus has told us (Mark 7:18-22; Eph 2:3). If we are careful to resist the thoughts of our flesh by submitting it to the sovereign knowledge of God, we will overcome lust, sin and death which are actually an after effect of allowing one initial fleshly thought and suggestion of the evil one in to us.

The power and dominance of the
“flesh” through which sin corrupts our thinking has been broken at our salvation (Rom 6:14), but its existence and desires have not been eliminated in order to make us fight against it and become over-comers by our wise and godly choices, and as a result of it help us win the crown of life which will prove that we loved the Lord more than our own desires (James 1:12). Just because God allows temptation doesn't mean that He is the one tempting us, God has not even an iota of attraction towards evil in His own nature and character, so he cannot be tempted by evil nor can He tempt anyone with evil (Jam 1:13). But God allows temptation so that we can be tested and tried to inherit the reward He has for us. But remember, when God allows temptation, He stays faithful not to allow temptation beyond our ability, but with the temptation He makes a way out to overcome it. God has promised that when He allows temptation, it will not be something unique to us, but it will be something that is common for all men, though they might act differently to fulfill the lust of it in different ways and methods. Each Christian is responsible to turn away from temptation and if he or she doesn't, he or she is responsible for sinning. We must always agree with God that we have sinned when we have done it. Being honest before God will always please God to move on our behalf and deliver us from our evil ways.

Apostle Paul says that though we some times do sin the same way like a unbeliever who cannot inherit the kingdom of God, but we are actually no more the same old person as those unbelievers are, we were washed and set apart as a new man through Jesus taking the guilt of all our sin and making us as though we have never sinned at all before God's eyes in the renewing power of the Spirit of God
(1 Cor 6:9-11; 2 Cor 5:17, 21; Titus 3:5-7).

As for lust, only one thing remain. Confess your sins regularly because this is important to keep your conscience cleansed from all the evil dead works cycle regularly and make you boldly serve our living God
(1 John 1:3, 7, 9; Heb 9:14). You should then be ready to fight against lust in Jesus mighty name. Tell to the Father God in heaven, whenever lustful thoughts comes to you, "God put it in a drive-in theater size screen before your throne and delete it if it seems bad to you." I promise you that you will supernaturally overcome lust easily. Then spend time reading the word of God and thinking pure thoughts of the Spirit which eliminates and gives no opportunity for evil thoughts to come in to your mind (Php 4:8-9; 1 Cor 2:10, 12-13, 16). Take your thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ constantly by rejecting thoughts that are evil and lustful and replace it with pure thoughts of God from the word of God through the Spirit who gives the ability to strengthen your will-power in your soul (2 Cor 10:3-6; Eph 3:16; 2 Cor 4:16). This is what the Bible says as, resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Present your body as a living sacrifice to the Lord which is a reasonable service for all His benefits, then you will overcome the world and be transformed in your soul more and more in a progressive way to live a overcoming life in the will of God for your life (Rom 12:1-2).

I will be praying for you so that you might be close to the Lord and overcome lust. You flee away from youthful lust and stay pure for the Lord in this perverse generation, God will use you mightily in the coming days for His Glory
(2 Tim 2:22, 21). All your brethren go through the same kind of temptation and because God is faithful to take them through their temptation victoriously, they with the help of God are overcoming it and so you too can do it. God will give you a right job in His right time.

Keep working for the Lord heartily and you have a great reward in this life and in the life to come, which our Lord Christ will give to those who serve Him
(Col 3:23-24; Heb 6:10-12). God comforts you in your trial and temptations always so that you may be able to comfort others in their trouble with the same comfort that God has given you (2 Cor 1:3-6). God wants you to make you a BLESSING! Keep “praying in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests” at all times so that you may grow in your faith and be a blessing to many in the coming days (Eph 6:18; Jude 1:20).

Much Blessings... :)
