What The Bible Says Only Matters!

Is God Happy When We Find A New Spouse Leaving The Old?

Question : Some people cannot stay married, but to find another spouse, you truly have to love. It is a wonderful blessing to do that. It is not adultery to get married again, and God would want us to be happy with another partner. It is so so wrong to let people think it is totally unacceptable. Any church should never use that against someone, and if one finds a new wonderful spouse they should be accepted without anyone saying otherwise. Any church that feels that way should be ashamed.

Answer : Greetings to you in Jesus name!

Yes I understand the dilemma you are going through in life.

We cannot set the rules to run in our spiritual life and if we do we will be disqualified from it. Relative moralist doesn't have any moral at all because he or she doesn't have a starting point or a ending point to clearly define what is good and what is bad. For a relative moralist, everything is acceptable and right as long as he feels happy about it. When he does not feel happy about it any longer, it become bad immediately. A relative moralist is amoralist actually.

The sovereign Creator God is the only only who has the authority to give laws to humans as the One who rules over them. God sets the law what to do and what not to do. Jumping adulterously from one marriage to the other is not a blessing but a curse of evil that has plagued that person who does that.

Sin is a disgrace to any person or nation (Prov 14:34), because sin condemns and separates a person from the Holy God who is the source of all blessings. Sin is a spiritual disease that brings death at the end as the wages for it. God cannot be ever happy seeing you with such a spiritual disease that is going to make you die. Instead, as a good doctor and a father would make the patient to take medicine for cure and care for their health from further deterioration, God wants us to stay away from the ill effects of sin by telling us to take the medicine of repentance, which will not only bring the cure for sin but also a changed life that will glorify God and make Him happy.

Adultery is totally unacceptable, not only in the Church but also in most of the society worldwide, and also in all the many religions of the world. Why? Because God says it so in the Bible and also in the conscience of all humans (Rom 2:14-16). "What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting [or adultery] really was if the law had not said, "You shall not covet, [you shall not commit adultery...]." (Rom 7:7). God gives law and commandments for our own good so that we may live a life of faith that pleases God and also keep ourselves under His blessings. God's laws are never restrictive, but rather protective. As a Father takes care of his children, so does the Lord God takes care of His children (Psa 103:13-14).

God expects us to obey Him as His dear children and in the Bible Jesus said, "And I tell you this, whoever divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery--unless his wife has been unfaithful." (Matt 19:9, English Standard Version).

Also Jesus continued saying regarding divorce in the same book of Matthew, "But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery." (Matt 5:32, NIV).

Also apostle Paul expounded God's will be saying, "10 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. 11 But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife. 12 To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If a brother has an unbelieving wife and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. 13 And if a woman has an unbelieving husband and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him." (1 Cor 7:10-13).

To a real spiritual woman, God matters most and his command is regarded as the highest respected in her life. Because of the Love for God in her or his heart, they will keep His commandments (John 14:15, 16-18).

God is pleased and happy only when we keep His commandments in love towards Him. To help us do that, God gave His only begotten Son Jesus Christ for our sins to be forgiven, so that we could get the Holy Ghost fire power and strength to please Him through His strength and guidance.

When the Bible says something as adultery, it is and if you dispute what God has said, then you are fighting against God in rebellion.

God does not want His children to live in adulterous relationship, and he cannot be happy for His children to continue to live in sin and rebellion against Him. The Church cannot tolerate adultery because every pastor who is working under the direction of God will speak the truth as Jesus instructs and guides him.

The true Church of Jesus Christ that exists on earth will warn every one of Jesus' disciples to stay away from adulterous relationship and sinful fornication that God forbids. If the Church which is the pillar of truth doesn't stand for truth, who will (1 Tim 3:15)?

The Church will never be ashamed to tell the truth and stand for it, but those sinful adulterers who cannot tolerate the truth should feel ashamed for themselves because of their sinful lifestyle against God. Jesus has given the Church leaders the authority to confront sin when it is seen within the Church, so that a little sin should not lead the whole Church in to immorality by association (1 Cor 5:1-5, 7-8, 9-13; 15:33-34). It is a three step process where the sinful person is confronted of their sin, first privately one to one and if they do not hear to obey what the Bible says, then one before three or four brethren they are confronted with their sin and still if they are stubborn enough not to let go of their sinful lifestyle, then tell it openly before the Church as they do not continue to hear the Church authority and practice sin openly before the Church, they are finally excommunicated from the Church for their own good to repent. If they really repent and leave the sinful lifestyle to call sin as sin, then live for God in righteousness and holiness, then they are received back in love and truth (Matt 18:15-20; 2 Cor 7:9-12; 2:6-11; 10:6).

I hope and pray that God would give you conviction to make a turn around and become a true Bible believing follower of Jesus Christ who has bought you with His very life (Heb 10:29-30, 31, 35-36, 39; 6:4-6).

God says, "15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” 17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. 18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." (1 Cor 6:15-20).

God further says, "16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are." (1 Cor 3:16-17).

God's judgment is for sure upon a adulterer and the Word of God minces no words regarding it but says, "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge." (Heb 13:4).

If we repent from our sinful ways, God will turn away from His judgment towards us in His mercy, and will instead bless us with His riches spiritually and in all other areas of our lives.

Repent and change your mind regarding sin of adultery as adultery, call the spade a spade. Ask God to give you the grace to overcome such sin and stay morally pure for the Glory of God and for your own spiritual well being. Sin thrills but always stings with the poison of death at the end of it all, adultery is no exception. Run away from immoral lifestyle, run, run...you cannot stick two papers together with a gum and then remove it safely with out the one sticking to the other in damage, adultery and changing partners is the same in real life like those two papers stuck by glue. When adultery is done it damages the body of the person who is involved in it, and they will remain broken in a damaged condition the rest of their lives, unless God restores them when they really repent of it. Even though the wounds will be healed by God's mercy still the scars of the wound will remain the rest of their lives

Much Blessings....
